Simple, sophisticated, and intelligent: about creating an identity for a scientific event

I developed the visual identity for an academic event organized by one of the largest private universities in Brazil.

The University Nove de Julho (UNINOVE), Sao Paulo, Brazil, has several bachelor’s and post-graduate programs, including Masters’s and Ph.D. degrees. Among them is a Master’s and Ph.D. program in Informatics and Knowledge Management, which I attended and graduated from. It is currently one of Brazil’s largest private institutions of higher education.

I was responsible for developing the identity and all the graphic material of the international academic event SETII – Seminar on Intelligent Information Technology, which has been organized annually by this program since 2016. I also developed the first version of the website and all the pieces of communication for the event in the 2016 (when the event started) and 2018 editions.

The client

With a history of more than 60 years of intense dedication to education, Nove de Julho University (UNINOVE) is one of Brazil's largest private higher education and research institutions.

Project Outcome

Key points

I developed the visual identity for an academic event organized by one of the largest private universities in Brazil. Besides the corporate identity, I was also responsible for the first version of the event’s website.

What I learned

The central learning from this job had to deal with a type of client that is not exactly connected to the industry. Explaining certain communication concepts that used to be relatively easy to explain in other contexts was a peculiar challenge.
