I created a series of 3D images of Cutlite do Brasil’s laser cutting machines for the company’s promotional materials. The 3D models were an alternative to conventional photography. In this case, the problem with traditional photography was that the machines were giant and weighed tons. Moving them to a studio was out of the question.
Realistic 3D that replaces traditional photography
I created a series of 3D images of laser cutting machines manufactured by Cutlite that were used in the company's promotional materials.
Therefore, making 3D images was the ideal solution. The result was exciting! I worked for a few months producing a series of images based on real photos and technical schematics of the machines. These images were rendered in different angles and configurations since the machines are usually sold in modules.
Project Outcome
Key points
The primary materials that gave rise to the 3D machines were photos and detailed technical drawings. Most parts were made with incredible technical rigor and precision, while others were modeled in a more artistic approach. In this work, traditional photography concepts were also applied to represent the product as realistically as possible.
What I learned
Undoubtedly, the most significant learning in this job was the technical detailing and the translation of technical schematics into 3D images of objects. The technical prototyping of machines was, until then, new to me. I had worked with architectural blueprints for many years, and this knowledge was invaluable to completing this job.
